Although Maite began her professional journey in consulting, the growing role of technology in industries of all kinds led her to transform her career towards the technological realm. In 2023, with 3.4 million patents filed annually in new technology, Maite stresses the importance of not being left out of this growing field. Technology has permeated diverse industries, and Maite's innate curiosity drove her to delve deeper into this world. Her transition from a consulting environment to CPO and co-founder of a startup is testament to how technology can redefine careers and open up new opportunities.
Maite began her foray into technology by applying to startups, making sure the technical team was willing to teach her. At Trora, they promote a culture where acknowledging what you don't know is allowed, but not trying to learn is not.
Maite, in leading a product team at Trora, stresses the importance of being willing to take on difficult tasks and providing her team with the tools and context necessary for them to innovate. Despite the lack of deep technical knowledge, Maite stresses the humility of accepting diverse opinions and subject matter experts.
At Trora, they use a methodology inspired by Amazon's "Proposals", where everyone has the opportunity to give their opinion and challenge the team's proposals.
