What have we learned and what's next?

The adventure you have undertaken in this course is a journey full of remarkable achievements. While the process may have been arduous, the satisfaction of seeing the end result makes every moment worthwhile. Throughout the course, we have unraveled how to undo elements in Vim and explore different ways to texture our graphics, carrying all of this knowledge into the development of a video game engine.

How to apply what we've learned?

  1. Constant practice:

    • Specialization in specific techniques is key. While it's not necessary to learn them all, focusing on a few that you feel strongest or most interested in will help you perfect them.
  2. Visual references:

    • Study different references to improve perception of color and materiality. Observing and analyzing other works gives you a deeper knowledge and a better understanding of how to apply it in your projects.

What concrete actions can we take?

  • Course exam:Test your knowledge by taking the course exam. This will not only assess what you have learned, but will also give you a clear idea of the areas in which you could improve.

  • Share your achievements:Sharing the code on platforms like Platzi with family and friends not only gives you the opportunity to get benefits like a free month, but also to get valuable feedback.

What's the next step?

The next stepping stone in this journey is the lighting course. A crucial aspect of video game development is the ability to transform a scenario through the life that lights and shadows can bring.

Why is lighting important in video games?

  • Accentuates realism:The right lighting can highlight details and enhance the player's sense of immersion, making the environment feel more realistic and engaging.

  • It directs attention:Strategically employing shadows and lights can guide the player to important objectives or clues in the game without the need for explicit cues.

What techniques can be explored?

  1. Surprising lighting effects:Learn how to create visual effects that surprise the player and enhance the game's narrative.

  2. Atmosphere control:Use lighting to set the mood of each scene, helping to tell the story without using words.

Remember that every step you take brings you closer to the goal of creating unique and incredible gaming experiences - keep going and never stop learning!

馃槂
