What will you learn in this course?

In this JavaScript course, you will dive into the development of complete APIs with Express.js. You will learn how to create and connect your backend with different clients, acquiring intermediate and advanced knowledge about web architecture, from the client to the server and databases. You will have the opportunity to learn practical techniques that will prepare you for real-world challenges, applying your skills to solve problems and improve your immediate environment.

Who is the instructor?

The instructor for this course is Eduardo de la Cruz Ibarra, a web developer with more than ten years of experience. Eduardo has worked with technologies such as React, Angular, JavaScript, and more. Currently, he is a software architect, which allows him to lead development projects and select the best technological tools for complete solutions. In addition, he is a tutor, speaker, and shares his passion for motorcycles on his motorcycling blog.

How is the course structured?

The course is highly practical, spending 80% of the time writing code and resolving bugs. The other 20% is focused on explaining key concepts that will be integrated during development. While typing and programming, you will learn about web architecture and how to deal with bugs as opportunities for improvement. You are encouraged to actively participate and ask questions through the discussion system to get the most out of the learning experience.

What are the goals of the course?

The goal is to achieve a clear and practical understanding of Express.js and its implementation to develop a REST API that connects to a database to provide accurate information. Students are also expected to understand how full stack web development works and be motivated to apply their knowledge in meaningful personal projects.

Recommendations and previous knowledge

This course is not introductory. Previous knowledge in JavaScript is required and it is recommended to have taken previous courses in frameworks such as React and Angular. The concepts of asynchrony and HTTP call handling are essential for success in this course. It is suggested to review the JavaScript course at Platzi to strengthen this knowledge before starting.

Course Project

You will be encouraged to develop a practical application that ties in with your personal interests. The idea is that you identify a problem or area of improvement related to your hobbies and apply your new knowledge to create an effective solution. This not only reinforces learning, but also turns the knowledge gained into a useful tool for your passions and future projects.
