Realizar una llamada por teléfono no es lo mismo que una reunión cara a cara o una videollamada. Considera las siguientes pautas para prepararte para este tipo de conversación.
Advice | Description |
---|---|
Be prepared | Again, be prepared for everything you do. Prepare a list of points to talk about in the call, and take small notes. Prepare and plan your call. |
Speak slowly | If you speak too fast, you can confuse the other person, the message can get lost. It’s just a phone call, there’s no face to face interaction. |
Introduce yourself / Be polite | You should always say who are you, especially if they don’t know you. And, always, be polite with everyone. |
Ask for clarification / confirm the information | Ask more questions if you need. Ask for clarification and confirm the information. |
Take notes | Take notes while you’re talking. You know exactly what you spoke about and you could be very clear after the call. |
La comunicación por teléfono no pasa de moda y es una opción importante que deberías tener en cuenta para comunicarte con otras personas en el trabajo.

Clarifying: Cold call is when calling potential clients who have had no prior contact with a salesperson. But there are good points.
I remember the networking course who says “we have two ears and one mouth”, so you have to listen and wait your turn to speak, I think speak slowly is key too, I’m not very good on listening English (I’m working on that), so I appreciate if someone speak slowly, your customers also will appreciate it ^^

When you talk with a client listenning is much more important than speaking, so how we can have a good phone call with a client?
Be prepared:
* Prepare what you want to talk about, take notes about the call, about his questions, to analyse it after the call
Speak slowly:
* Speak slowly and be clearly when you speak with your client, remember its a just a phone call dont make it confused and try to transmit your message with him
Introduce yourself / be polite:
* Always say how you are, specially if him do not know you yet and think about low context and high context when you are speaking with him
Ask for clarification / confirm the information:
* Ask more question dont be afraid you need to know whats the client wants to hear, to improve their experience when you are speaking and at the same time for a future
Take notes:
* Take notes about what are you talking and about his answer to give a good report or a good analysis about that call

When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen (Ernest Hemingway).
People don’t listen. They just wait for their turn to talk (from Fight Club).
When you’re talking to clients, listening is much more important than speaking.
BE PREPARED: take notes about what you need to talk with the clients. Also learn about them culturally. Are they a low context country or high context country? That’s very important to be prepared and plan your call.
SPEAK SLOWLY: speak clearly depending on your clients. If you speak way too fast and you can confuse them ,the message can get lost.
Remember it’s just a phone call. There’s no face-to-face interaction.
INTRODUCE YOURSELF/ BE POLITE: you should always say who you are, especially if they don’t know you yet. Keep in mind if it’s low or high context. Think about their culture and introduce yourself.
Always be polite. Polite is good for any type of country.
ASK FOR CLARIFICATION / CONFIRM THE INFORMATION: Ask a lot of questions. You need to know about what the client wants to hear.
Ask for clarification and confirm the information. When you’re nearing the end of the call be sure to repeat all the agreed points. Everybody knows this is what needs to be done .
TAKE NOTES: you must do it while you’re talking. It helps you be clearer when giving the call report or sending the proposal to the client.
