«The frog» is that one thing you have on your to-do list that you have absolutely no motivation to do and that you’re most likely to procrastinate on. … «Eating the frog» means to just do it, otherwise the frog will eat you meaning that you’ll end up procrastinating it the whole day.

*honest feedback

the best way to deal with conflicts is to resolve them, there will always be differences in a workplace but the best thing is that we accept them and together we know how to get there.

I’ve had never heard that, but I like it.
it means: stop procrastinating and get more done in less time

I hope this helps!

some people sleep a few hours because there is a lot of to work,
eventhou they are organize, they suffer a lot of stress

stress

In companies if we don’t have conflicts is because we’re not humans, so it’s important to fix it asap, since if there’s conflict there will be troubles to move forward.

in my last job, finally realized the main important than been 100% clear and specific in small details in order to avoid conflict, and specially get the work done without delay. The company has seven different lines of business, and every manager wanted to made the best for their area, so the communication team had has always to be ready for the multi task work.

“The more we run from conflict, the more it masters us. The more we try to avoid it, the more it controls us. The less we fear conflict, the less it confuses us. The less we deny our differences, the less they divide us.” David Augsburger

This is very important to avoid work burnout. I’d like to know this before. Good class!

Don’t avoid conflicts is a big responsibility but It is the better way to be in peace

something works for me to deal with stress at work is sleep jaja

Talking about multitasking, I feel bad because I got 4 courses opened right now JAJAJA

I also love to eat cookies 😁

It is important to have a good chair or a good set up for work, the lack of it can make you feel stressesed and grumpy all the time

Sources of our stress at work.
Personal life = Vida personal
Physical discomfort = Malestar físico
Multitasking = Multitareas
Interpersonal conflicts = Conflictos interpersonales
Disorganization = Desorganización
Unclear communication = Comunicación confusa, poco clara

The first that you should to do is eat you the frog in the mornings

This is a very important topic because an entire team could get broken if conflicts are not resolved. I think that in Latin America this is a huge problem that has been changing a little in the last years.

Good tips!

Thanks Jess, the end was a good path to solve problems. Very useful.

i think that there is a mistake when he describe interpersonal conflicts, bacause he mencion that sometimes there are conflict between coworkers, and interpersonal conflict refert to have problems with youself. Is only my opinion if someone have more imformation I appreciate if share it with us

Yeah you have to face your problem and fix them… I think stress helps you to get better

habits make the difference so start doing yours.

i like

My opinion about the 3er point "Dont involve emotion" is that the emotions are us, we cant ignore those or think that those are not present in a particular situation, my suggestion is that we work on managing those emotions, also you can take the course at platzi . com / emotions 😉, I`m kidding!, or not?

Don’t get overwhelmed by stress, learn how to manage it

Always find a solution that is the most important part!

I was thinking at this course won’t be well but I’m so happy to take it, the teacher is and excellent teacher thw way as he explain makes the class so easy.

Workplace problems

75% of the problems in the world could be easily solved if we only put ourselves in the shoes of other people to understand their feeling.

Good tips Jess! I’ll put them into practice!

How to deal with stress at work?
• Form positive relationships.
• Star exercise
• Take care of your nutrition.
• Get enough sleep: try to sleep at least 8 hours.
• Prioritize and organize: what is the most important?
• Work on your good habits: it’s important to work on your good habits to try to make yourself a better and healthier person.

How do we manage conflicts at work?

  1. Find the cause: you need to know what is causing your conflict or your stress and identify it.
  2. Don’t avoid conflicts: that makes a bigger problem.
  3. Don’t involve emotion: we have to separate emotions from the workplace. We must be objective.
  4. Direct communication: don’t be rude but be direct to communicate effectively.
  5. Empathy: you have to understand the points of view of other people because maybe they have stress or problems at home.
  6. Listen to each other: you have to active listening and that goes empathetic.
  7. Find a solution: find the way to resolve the conflicts or the situation.

Avoid creating snowballs at work! Melt that ice as soon as possible! Otherwise, if you think that once the snowball rolled down the hill the problem is gone, you will face unpleasant surprises!

The section resource have a interesting information about this topic.

Something great that I found about: Eat that frog
As Mark Twain once said “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”
Vale la pena

There’s a book called Atomic Habits, which has become well-known because helps people to improve their habits.
I think it could be good reading for this level.

You need to have empathetic with all the coworkers for a good enviroment in the office !

Very important advice in direct communication be direct but don’t be rude

Things that make stress:
The test of the code don’t pass
The deploy to production has errors or the server broke 😅

Great 😃 In the resources, there are a lot of useful websites to go into these topics and practice reading comprehension with common words in the job environment 😃

I like this sentence “The best way to escape from your problems is to solve them.”

the topic is very useful i will practice the tips every day, thank you 👍

I think take care of your nutrition is very important, I’ve talked with a nutritionist and told me that this is important to keep energy

I love to work remotely, but the communication is so bad, sometimes I don’t know what was the final decision in the office. I’ve been trying to solve it suggesting communication tools, but WhatsApp is still the main communication tool.
