I want to share with you this interesting video about the elevator pitch. (It’s in Spanish, sorry)

• Research is the key! You need to learn about the company, its values, and what they do
• Your personal profile, especially on LinkedIn, be sure everything is updated and makes it looks correct.
• Create and share your projects, most of the big companies started with projects like yours.
• Elevator pitch is a professional summary about you that is short. No more than 30 seconds, because it’s something you should be able to say while you are riding in an elevator. This must contain: who you are, what you do, what you are good at and why they should hire you.
• Apply for jobs and be prepared to interview, try to be confident and if you are not confident pretend to be it!
• Networking, probably the most important, because the people you meet may help you in the future to get your dream job. Built professional relationships.

Good relationships are one of the best personal introductions…

Elevator pitch probably will never be the same due to the covid 19 contingency, the last photos that I saw from my friends in companies elevators are completely alone, what environment or situation do you think will be our next “Elevator” ?

How do we get our dream job?

  1. Research is key: You need to learn about the company. You need to learn about their values. What they stand for, what they do.
  2. Your personal profile (especially on LinkedIn ): LinkedIn is perfect for finding jobs and making professional connections. So be sure to update your profile. Especially when you’re putting your experience and the jobs you have worked.
  3. Create and share your projects: Share your personal portfolios. It 's really important because most big companies started from small projects like this, maybe your idea or your project .
  4. Your elevator pitch: it is a professional summary about you (30 seconds to read it). Who you are, what you do, what you are good at, and why they should hire you.
  5. Apply for jobs and be prepared for an interview: To get your dream job , you have to apply for it. If you think no (I’m not good enough, I don’t have enough experience, I won’t apply) then you will never get the job. Trying to be confident and if you are not confident pretend to be confident we say fake it till you make it.
  6. Networking: this is the most important. The connections you make, the friends you make ,they will help you in the future to find your dream job. So try to leave all of the doors open in all of the companies you work.

I agree with the relationships are very important in any company!.

to have the job of your dreams you must work on it, of course it does not come overnight, but if you fight for what you want, you get it, good interpersonal relationships, communication, excellent presentation
yea

Fake it till you make it. That’s sounds good to me!

“Fake it till you make it”

I agree with Jess, we must be prepared to be interviewed, sometimes the imposter syndrome makes us think that we are not suitable for a certain job, so we should just apply and let fears away.

Networking

I missed a little bit when Jess was talking about what he did before to enter at Platzi or how he researched about this company.

  • He would watch the live sessions.
  • He would enter the Platzi channel.
  • He took the basic course.
  • He learned about the company.
In those cases the use of would also works to talk about the actions or habits in the past, similar to used to
