Being sociable with your colleagues

Pasarás mucho tiempo con tus compañeros de trabajo, incluso más tiempo que con tu familia o amigos. Es importante ser sociable, conocerlos y aprender de ellos para que puedan apoyarse mutuamente en la labor que desempeñan.

Aspectos en común con tus colegas de trabajo

Conocer a tus compañeros e identificar puntos en común te será de gran ayuda para empatizar con ellos y trabajar mejor juntos.

• Common questions: To get to know people at work, ask genuine questions. Be more interested than trying to seem interesting.
• Common ground: After asking questions to get to know your colleagues, think of the information they shared and what you have in common.

Planes para socializar

Organiza encuentros fuera de oficina para socializar y conocer genuinamente a tus compañeros de trabajo. Sé respetuoso con ellos, no hagas planes que luego no puedas cumplir.

• Go for a coffee or beer.
• Have lunch together.
• Share hobbies.

Cultura

Conocer y adaptarse a la cultura de personas provenientes de otros países es un reto interesante. No todos se comportarán de la misma manera y debes tener en cuenta algunos aspectos sobre su cultura.

• Punctuality: No matter where you live, be punctual.
• Clothing: What is formal? What is informal? If you are in a work environment, what are considered formal clothes?
• Greeting: Is it a handshake? Is it a hug? Does it just wave your hand? Depending on the different cultures, certain cultures have the kiss on the cheek or not.

Construir un equipo

Las actividades grupales son muy importantes para estrechar lazos con el equipo. Pero, ¿qué significa exactamente construir un equipo?

• It is the action of making a group of people work together effectively as a team by doing activities and having special events or calls designed to increase motivation and promote cooperation between team members.

Sé sociable con tus compañeros, pasarás mucho tiempo con ellos y es importante que este sea ameno.
