Construction of type 2
conditionals

  • If I had more money, I wouldn’t work.
  • If she worked harder, She could get a promotion.
  • He wouldn’t be so tired if he worked out more.
  • I could play basketball if I were taller.
*For the verb TO BE in the if clause, we will always use WERE.

Explanation
We use this type of conditional to create a
hypothetical result in the present based on
an unlikely event.
Eg. If the weather were better, I could ride my bike.

If I slept early, I would study in the mornings before work.
If I had more time, I would learn French.

if he didn’t study for the exam, he wouldn’t approved.

  • Type 0 conditionals are used to express something which is
    always true. ( I n d i c a t i v e )
They are also used to talk about something which always happens
as a result of some thing else.

  • We use when in conditionals to show that we are sure that
something will happen.(We are certain of something will happen)
Example: I’ll see you when I come to paris.

  • We use If in conditionals to show that we are not sure whether
something will or not happen. Perhaps I’ll come to paris, perhaps
I won’t.) Example: I’ll see you if I come to paris.

  • Conditionals Type 2 express an imaginary or improbable
situation wich unlikely to happen in the present or the future.

  • We can use were instead of was for all persons.

  • We use if I were you
When we want to give advice.
    ( S u b j u n c t i v e )
If I were you —> I would stop eating junk food
*Conditionals Type 3 refers to the past and describe situations that never
happened or imaginary or improbable situations contrary to the facts,
    in the past.

  • We can use were instead of was for all persons.

  • We use if I were you
When we want to give advice.
    ( S u b j u n c t i v e )
If I had been you–>I would have liked to share more things

I think the challenge description is wrong, talking about type 2 conditional the exercise should be, “think about something that could be different in your present and what would be de result of that”
