    • Ejemplo: If I won $1 million dollars... (Si me ganara un millón de dólares...)
    • Ejemplo: ...I would buy a plane (...me compraría un avión).

En este contexto, "would" es la palabra más comúnmente utilizada, pero también puedes encontrar "could", "might" o "may", dependiendo del nivel de certeza que quieras transmitir.

¿Cuándo se utilizan los condicionales?

  • Situaciones hipotéticas: If I left this job, I would start exercising again.
  • Consejos y recomendaciones: If I were you, I would start that business before leaving my job.
  • Deseos poco probables: If I won the lottery, I would definitely quit my job.

  • SUMMARY
This roleplay will be comic style. Let’s first take a look at the grammar you will see.
We will practice and will understand how to use the second conditional. It will be used to talk about hypothetical thoughts or imaginary ideas.
The sentence structure is: IF + PAST SIMPLE + WOULD (COULD MAY MIGHT) CLAUSE.
    For instance:
If I won one million dollars, I would buy a plane (I don’t have that money right now). So this is completely imaginary.

I was reading the PDF of the role play, and I want to use some of the dialogue there in my own situation.

  • If I were you I would wake up earlier and finish my housework in the morning.
  • I would read many book if I had more time
  • if I ran out of money I wouldn’t steal anybody
  • What else would you do if you had more time?
    Maybe, I’d probably rest more
  • What would you do if your girlfriend cheated on you?
If she cheated on me, I would break up with him
