How to share your finished prototype effectively?

Sharing your finished prototype is a crucial step in the development of any digital project. In this module, you will learn how to efficiently share your prototype to get valuable and constructive feedback from your team or clients. Let's get started!

What are the first steps to share a prototype?

Once you have your design complete, it's essential to make sure everything is working properly before sharing it. Start by reviewing the prototype in detail:

  • Navigate through all the screens, from the initial login to the interactive options, to ensure that the links work correctly.
  • Test the visual effects and interactions, making sure they meet the user's expectations.

How to create a prototype link to share?

When creating a link of your prototype, you will have different options depending on the purpose of the share:

  1. Design review: Allow your fellow designers to leave detailed comments on specific areas of the prototype.
  2. Development team sharing: Ideal for getting technical feedback.
  3. Client presentation: Present the design without unnecessary notifications or extra development elements.

To create the link, follow these steps:

  • Click 'share' and select 'design review' to receive constructive feedback from your peers.
  • Name the link with a title that identifies its use, for example, "Pilot test".
  • Share the link with everyone involved in the project to foster a collaborative environment.

How to receive and manage feedback on a prototype?

Once the prototype is shared, it is time to receive and manage feedback:

  • When viewing the prototype, users will see indications of where they can click, which facilitates initial interaction.
  • Colleagues can leave specific comments using pushpins and add suggestions, indicating desired changes or improvements.
  • Respond quickly to comments, offering solutions or justifications, such as proposing to make an illustration due to a lack of color photographs.

What to do after receiving feedback?

Feedback is a powerful tool for improving the design and making sure it meets the project's objectives. Here are some tips for making the most of it:

  • Analyze how much feedback there is and prioritize those that are essential to the functionality and usability of the application.
  • Make changes based on the feedback received and share updates with the team.
  • Reflect on the experience of sharing the prototype and actively participate in the feedback section of the course to learn from the experiences of others.

Being actively involved in the review and improvement process will not only improve your prototype, but will also allow you to continue to grow as a designer. Don't miss the opportunity to improve and learn from your peers!
