I think the use of this expression at work, at home, at school, can be used to say hello, requests for favors, give recommendations, and to express thanks when we are or arrive at the workplace when we are to be in the house, and we arrive o are in school.
I think we should use this expressions every time we are asking for a favor to another person, it is better to be more polite when you expect someone to do something for you.
