PASSIVE REPORTED SPEECH is used in formal spoken and written speech. The speaker acts as a reporter more than a general speaker.
Ideas are impersonal. I’m removing my opinion, my personal feelings out of the situation. I’m just reporting and I’m just a messenger. It could be a speculation. I don’t to pass judgment.
For example: It is said that he did a good job (It is said by people POTENTIALLY that he did a good job).
STRUCTURE: initial clause + main clause.
Initial clause could be: it is believed that, it is thought that, it is said that, it is reported that.
Main clause is a sentence that can stand on its own. It can live alone without any help.
Passive reported speech could be in the PRESENT (it said …. ) , PAST (it was said …) and FUTURE (it will be said … ).
