PARALLEL COMPARATIVES: describe a cause and effect process where it’s keeped the same level (same distance) between cause and effect the whole time.
It’s very useful to express contrasting ideas that are occuring at the same time as cause and effect. It’s very common in English. .
For instance: the more I study, the more I learn.
There are two important things that you cannot forget.

1. There are long and short adjectives and they behave differently. Short adjectives add ER at the final of the adjective word to get the comparative. Long adjectives add the word MORE before the adjective word to get the comparative.
2. We need to maintain the same structure: two sentences in parallel form.

There is one structure to compare characteristics and another one to compare actions.
