This is one of the funniest classes I have learned.😄
Until today I didn’t know the name of that word-jokes.

In my not humble opinion, explaining jokes is one of the saddest thing to do, no matter the language.
😄

Hahahaha!
I’ve never thougth jokes were important in a language context but as Ravee said, they make easier to communicate with people.
I’m sending an email to Netflix suggesting to make a remake of Seinfield with Ravee on the main role hahaha!

### **How to identify puns** There are four main categories of puns: #### **1. Sound-alike puns** These puns use words that sound the same but have different meanings or spellings. * **Example 1:** "A pessimist's blood type is always B-negative."*Explanation:* "B-negative" sounds like "be negative," which fits the joke about pessimists being negative. * **Example 2:** "My friend is getting married soon. She's going to get a new surname and address."*Explanation:* "Address" can mean both a physical location and a way of speaking to someone. #### **2. Look-alike puns** These puns use words that look the same but have different meanings in different contexts. * **Example 1:** "What did the road say to the bridge? The road said, 'You make me cross.'"*Explanation:* "Cross" can mean both "to go across" and "to be angry." * **Example 2:** "I used to be addicted to soap, but now I'm clean."*Explanation:* "Clean" can mean both "not addicted" and "physically clean." #### **3. Close-sounding puns** These puns use words that sound similar but are not exactly the same. * **Example 1:** "What did the cashew say to the peanut while chasing him? He said, 'I'm going to cashew!'"*Explanation:* "Cashew" sounds like "catch you." * **Example 2:** "Becoming a vegetarian was a big missed steak for me."*Explanation:* "Missed steak" sounds like "mistake." #### **4. Texting puns** These puns use a combination of letters and numbers to create meanings, often used in text messages. * **Example 1:** "R U L8?"*Explanation:* This sounds like "Are you late?" using letters and numbers. * **Example 2:** "Hotel sign = Gr8 r8s (great rates)."*Explanation:* "Gr8 r8s" sounds like "great rates."

How does it feel to explain every single joke Ravee?, it has to be a nightmare, because you are ruining them.

I enjoy to know puns beacuse is a funny version to learn and learn meanings.
I use texting puns like Thank U (you) - 4(for) example , 2(to) U …

I found myself laughing along the whole class...puns are truly necessary to understand all the nuances of a language. 😋
