¿Cómo presentar el proyecto final?

Clase 4 de 4Reto: English for Business

Welcome to your final project!

We’re proud of the progress you have made! Congratulations! Now, it’s time for the final step: to show everything you learned so far! 🥳

For the final project, you have to present your idea as an ignite 🔥An ignite is a short, dynamic presentation of 3 minutes introducing your project or business idea.

How do I present it?

Record yourself with the device you feel most comfortable with. Then, upload that video recording to a drive folder, Dropbox, OneDrive, YouTube, or the service you use! You only need to make sure that it has sharing permissions, so everyone can watch it!

Where should I post it?

In this foro section. Just click, paste the url writing a name for the link, and that’s it! Make sure you add it as a link.

Time limit?

The time limit is Friday 8th of April at: 3pm Colombia - Peru / 2pm Mexico / 4pm Chile - Argentina

After this time, we won’t count projects anymore. But of course, you can publish it anyway and receive feedback from us and the community!

Who are the winners?

We will select the best five projects. From these five students, two are going to win a Duolingo international test to certify their English!

The five finalists will present their final project during the English Live Class on Tuesday 12th!

Improve your English skills

  • Listening:

Listen with a specific purpose: a documentary, the news, a TV show, etc. Then, summarize what you heard and understood.

Understand the difference between listening for gist (main idea) and listening for details.

  • Reading:

Start by reading short texts or investing just 10 minutes a day. Set a reading routine, for example 10 minutes for reading before having breakfast.

Pay attention to new vocabulary and use a dictionary and a journal to record new words.

  • Speaking:

Record yourself and listen to that audio in order identify pronunciation, intonation or pace issues.

Be open to opportunities where you can speak (meetups, voice chats, etc.) Use electronic dictionaries to review pronunciation of new/difficult words.

  • Writing:

Journal: Listen to short podcasts and try to transcribe them.

Immersion: write everything you do in English. Your meeting summaries, your shopping list, your blog posts or emails, and so on.

  • Project Management

When leading a project, planning is the most important stage. You will have to make strategic decisions along the value chain. Question at all times, from a constructive and critical point of view. Not only should you identify the reason why you’re doing the Project, but also how feasible it is to get it done with the resources you have. If you know who your stakeholders are, you will anticipate possible future issues.

  • Innovation

Innovation is not about starting from scratch. There are many great ideas out there, but just a few are actually implemented. Learn about other people’s ideas and create something new. Try experiment and follow up. Identify what works and what doesn’t. Identify problems that you can turn into an opportunity to innovate.

  • Strategy and Leadership

You will grow if your team grows. To achieve this, be clear about the goals you want the team to achieve. Listen actively. Ask yourself: Who do I want to work with? What kind of leader do I want to be? Accept that you are going to make mistakes sometimes. Be passionate about your projects and calculate any risks you may have.

  • Negotiation

Public Relations is the first ability you must work on. Take advantage of each space, each minute to grow your network.

Planning will become your best partner. Never improvise in a negotiation. Be prepared. Also, your values are the foundation for everything. Have them clear. They will help you think more strategically, and this will contribute to reach an agreement.
