Performing Bitcoin installation and running your own node is an interesting technical challenge for you. You don't necessarily have to do it to become a Bitcoin Blockchain validator and receive commissions. You can try it just for the learning involved in performing all the actions related to installing Bitcoin on your computer.
You already know what Bitcoin Core is, you know its repository, you know how its architecture works, information storage. You know how you can contribute to the community and the great benefits of running your own node.
If you really want to build a Bitcoin node, we will share with you here a guide so you can take your first steps working with Bitcoin source code.
You should know in advance that, to download the entire Bitcoin mainnet ledger, you will need about 600 GB of data. But it is advisable to start with the testnet which only requires about 60 GB.
You can store the data on either an SSD or HDD, as well as use any type of operating system, no exceptions.
Throughout the guide, you will configure where you prefer to store the data, run the tests, and make your own Bitcoin configurations according to your preferences using the bitcoin-cli you already know.
Professor Marulanda has prepared a whole repository for us with a guide to installing Bitcoin Core, a guide to learn more about bitcoin-cli and another guide to learn about Bitcoin's programming language, Bitcoin Script.
We encourage you to fearlessly explore these guides and contribute and help improve them with your comments if you find any bugs or a better way to perform a Bitcoin Core node installation.
