Air travel is worthy for two main reasons, which are its speed whereby we can carry out our trips, and the security it offers when it comes to arriving safe and sound to our destinations. First and foremost, traveling by plane is largely more secure than, for example, traveling by train or bus. According to Worldwide Air Travel, the probability of an accident in a flight is 1 out of 1.6 millions, making thereby this transportation basis one of the most secure in the whole world; and, by the token, a feasible and reliable option for us and our families. Secondly, air travel allows us to set off on long distances around the world in very reduced spans of time; which otherwise could take us weeks if, for instance, we traveled by sailing. In the past, traveling to other places in the same continent would’ve taken us entire weeks, whilst traveling intercontinentally would have taken us even complete months. Fortunately, nowadays thank to air traveling we can conduct these same trips in less than eight or ten hours. Despite other problems like air-lag or cancelled flights - which are honestly inevitable - we may conclude that the disadvantages of air travel can’t frankly outweigh the very convenient advantages such speed and security, which are two things that we always expect when traveling abroad.
