The most typical dances of my country Argentina are:
Tango, milonga and vals milonguero: These are originally from city of Buenos Aires. These are danced hugging as a couple.
Chamame: This dance borned in the province of Corrientes. This is danced hugging as a couple.
Zamba: Its origin was in the northern and cuyana region. It is danced separately as a couple and with a handkerchief in hand.
Chacarera: This dance is originally from the province of Santiago del Estero. It is danced separately as a couple and follows a choreography.
Malambo: It borned in the pampeana region. It is danced alone with wooden heel boots and boleadoras.
Carnavalito, huayno and taquirari: these dances are originated in the Puna region. These are group dances. These are danced following choreography.
There are also other popular dances but not as well known as: the candombe, the pericón nacional, the gato, the escondido, the cueca, between others.

In Colombia, we have different traditional dances but I think the most important is Cumbia
Guatemala’s traditional dance is to the sound of the marimba.
In Venezuela where I am come from, The Joropo is the most popular folk dance.
The JOROPO is the traditional dance of VENEZUELA.
My practice:
PART I
We visited Brazil, Mexico, China, Spain, India and Scotland.
We learnt about the Samba Dance, the Day of the Dead, the Dragon Dance, the Flamenco Dance, the Kathak Dance and the Ceilidh Dancing.
PART II
We have many traditional dances in Bolivia, but the most famous are: Caporales, Morenada and Diablada.

I’m from Colombia, my wife is Brazilian and I’ve been learning a lot about Brazilian music and dances. We have some steps in common. I think that is very important to mention salsa, bachata, and merengue.
One of the traditional dances of my country, Venezuela, is the Joropo.

Here in Guatemala there are many types of dances, but where I am from there is the dance of the salguaches, which is a dance where the dancers use wooden masks and make their costumes with old clothes and sacks, and use a type of whip made from the skin of the banana tree. it is very beautiful and they only do it for the patron saint festivities.
