What is gamification and why is it relevant?

This approach not only increases motivation, but can improve the user experience and, ultimately, business results.

The psychological and design elements inherent in video games can change the way people interact with specific experiences. How did I discover gamification?

Gamification, despite being a niche topic, is gaining traction in the business ecosystem. Like many, my path to this field began unexpectedly. During my industrial engineering studies in Colombia, I received a research scholarship in the United States that exposed me to the world of gamification. This opportunity required me to research current trends, leading me to discover an article that explored its use in e-commerce. Excitement grew as I realized that I could combine my passion for video games with an enriching professional application.

As I dug deeper into the research, I became completely captivated by the underlying principles of gamification. Although the process of finding the ideal job within this field was not easy, my persistence led me to Octalysis Group, where I was finally able to apply my knowledge and passion.

Where is gamification applied successfully?

Gamification has an immense scope of action. Over the years, the Octalysis Group has collaborated with companies in a variety of industries:

Siempre me ha llamado la atenci贸n la experiencia de usuario. En todas las cosas que hago, como musica, emprendimientos varios y programaci贸n. Busco en que cada evento, juego o lo que sea, tenga algo especial y motivante para las personas que son parte de lo que se este realizando (publico, colaboradores, clientes, jugadores, etc...). Descubr铆 el concepto de gamificaci贸n hace algunos a帽os y es primera vez que hago un curso, estoy a dos segundos de comprar el libro de octalysis jajaja... Agradecido de que exista este curso y que lo de un experto en el tema.
Esta c谩psula me motiva a seguir aprendiendo sobre la gamificaci贸n y relacionar lo que me gusta con lo profesional. Yo tambi茅n soy gamer y apasionado por los juegos de mesa. Siempre trato de buscar esa conexi贸n para poder desarrollarme profesionalmente y estoy convencido de que este es mi camino.
