Jhon: Hey, Mariana. Are you there?
Mariana: I’m here! ↗️
Jhon: Amazing! ↗️↘️
Mariana: So, you were telling me about paying attention to your mental health.
Jhon: Of course. You see, the thing is↘️↗️ , when you are so focussed on work and you don’t allow yourself even a tiny break, believe me when I tell you↘️ : you’re gonna burst!↘️
Mariana: I totally get that.
Jhon: The problem with having a very stressful job is that ↘️↗️ when stress is prolonged, it can turn into chronic stress, and real health problems can set in.
Mariana: Absolutely! ↗️↘️ And the hardest part is that you reach a point where you can’t even enjoy positive events as you are in a constant state of anxiety.
Jhon: Exactly. So, in my opinion ↘️↗️ , it’s really important to try out new activities that help you recharge.
Mariana: What would you say helps you the most?
Jhon: For me it is connecting with other people, like going to see family, going out with friends or grabbing a coffee with a colleague. I used to work alone for many hours a week so interacting with other people like I do now, is very refreshing and it was a game changer.
Mariana: Actually ↗️, I also find that to be one of the most helpful things I can do to cope with stress: talk to someone about it. Also ↗️, I like to get creative, like painting, drawing, writing, singing, and even dancing around my house! ↗️
Jhon: Interestingly↗️ , there are multiple studies confirming that being creative can increase positive emotions, lessen depressive symptoms, reduce stress and decrease anxiety.
Mariana: Really? ↗️↘️
