**1. Why is writing often de-prioritised by English learners?**  As mentioned in the interview done to Jess, the dean of Platzi Academy, he noted that most people often think having a conversation is enough, without considering the “full context.” He also pointed out that if we only focus solely on speaking, it will weaken our ‘writing muscles’ (same as when we go in the gym and just practice one type of exercise.) You may become more used to speaking but end up disproportionately weaker in writing and your overall English proficiency. Striking a balance between both skills is essential.   **2. How can writing on Twitter/LinkedIn help you?**  These are great ways, not as stressful, where you can practice a little more and get feedback from your network. You can practice while you build your personal brand, it is a great way to practice. It is  important to make yourself noticeable for recruiters and potential employers and this is a great medium for you to do it.  **3. How is writing connected to speaking skills?** Writing is a productive skill, which is producing language. “When we produce language you get more out of it”, said Jess in the interview. He also mentioned that when we write what we are going to say, then say it, we will be able to increase our vocabulary.
Practice your thoughts in English on Platform X. This will help you build your personal brand.

**Why is writing often de-prioritised by English learners?** Because in my point of view, the major of people think that writing is easier to dominate supporting in platforms like google traslator or any other IA, so is not necessary to invest a lot of effors in that skill. This is a myth because as teacher mencioned, the way you say something is totally different the way you write it. **How can writing on twitter Linkedin help you?** I consider practicing post on twitter or linkedin allow as feel more confidence, learn new vocabulary and lost fear to intereract with others in a different languague of our mother tongue. **How is writing connected to speaking skills?** Both skills are connected because if you understand how exactly is writting a word, when you are in the middle of a conversation, you can express exactly what you want. This is because if you change an accent, a consonant or vowel when you are speaking in english, you can incluse offend someone.
1\. Because the vast majority of English institutes or academies, even English learners, put their attention on Speaking skills, ignoring other important skills like writing or reading, leaving behind that all the English skills are connected and important to develop a good level of language. 2\. This is a great way to enhance your writing skills because you don't have stress or pressure as you could have writing an essay or academic article. Writing on social media apps like Twitter allows you to make mistakes, write about more informal topics, and have fun with communities or friends. 3\. Writing and speaking are productive skills, which means it is the part when you use the language to create or produce something. As much as you produce, create, or generate, you can get more of it.
1 Why is writing often de-prioritised by English learners? Generally, the people who are learning a foreign language, don´t dimension the importance of writing as they learn to speak in that language, for example, the English language, understimating the relevance of practicing at the same time both important liguistic competences, in order to acquire the most powerful communication abilities as they learn new vocabulary, idioms, idiomatic expressions, among others, to communicate the most as you can in whatever field or context you are in. 2 How can writing on Twitter/LinkedIn help you? Having the opportunity of writing on different social media platforms let us build community and also help us to develop our arguing and explanations skills. 3 How is writing connected to speaking skills? While getting wide and expanding our vocabulary in different fields and topics, through the interactions with others in a work - academic spaces, we have the chance to get more than one skills to get the most out of the daily personal and professional interactions, meanwhile talking, learning or teaching in whatsoever we have performed as students, learners or teachers in whichever context we are on.

1. Why is writing often deprioritized by English learned?

  • To approach this question, you need to know that English is a group of many skills as reading, speaking listening and writing; and all of them are important to receive and produce information.
Since my opinion, I think when we start to study English we want to learn it, as fast as we can in order to have a conversation with someone or understand the movies. You could say: “I don’t need to write anything” or “guess could I use the Google Translate to make my test”, but specially on working environment you can’t use these tools all the time, you need to be efficient and faster.
So… to sum up, when you see all the potential that the skill of writing has, you start to take it more serious and with the time you “magically” improve your English like you had never imagined.

2. How can writing on Twitter/LinkedIn help you

  • These spaces are public-free, so… everyone that wants to write there, can do it. When you realize that you are learning together to a million people around the word, you lose a bit of this afraid and start to be yourself. Another thing important is that the mistakes are normal in this process ¿You remember how many times you have a mistake when you learned Spanish? It’s the same in English.
In conclusion, relax your self, open up your mind to new ideas and don’t give up.

This is all of now guys, these texts are really long. See you soon!

Thanks so much!!

Why is writing often de-prioritized by English learners?

  • I think this is the last skill that I want to focus on because is the lowest part of learning English, you have to take some time to sit down and think about what you want to share in your writing level. It’s very difficult to focus on one matter but when you have constant practice I suppose that you gain the skill of writing or on less you improve a little on the language.

Why is writing often de-prioritised by English learners?
Because a lot of institutions, a lot of places, and a lot of people, really think about speaking only, how to speak well to have a good conversation but they don’t realize the full context, because when having a conversation can be by texting, WhatsApp, or Slack.
It´s disproportional if only think about speaking. So keep the focus on writing it´s so important, and All can be able to write.
For example, if we have to write an important email or essay, we need to know how to write with the correct structure, If we don’t know, we are in big trouble.

How can writing on twitter Linkedin help you?
It´s a good way to day-to-day practice because you aren’t in stressful situations, you practice more and you can make mistakes, maybe some people will correct you, but it´s okay, because it’s not a very important piece of writing, throw your thoughts and try to write on social media.

How is writing connected to speaking skills?
Writing can improve your speaking skills because it´s a productive skill too. When we write, we are producing language, integrating new ways of speaking and new vocabulary.
Mixing these skills help us to improve our English level, and we can learn holistically.

Good evening, Mr Ravee, and all of you learning with me. Happy to say hello and answer these 3 questions:
1)Why is writing often de-prioritised by English learners?
I believe that we English learners, as people in general, and
as our video guest said, are very worried to be correctly heard, and we are not preocupied to write as well (but only because of a specific need, such as to write an email). We subestimate the power of writing, and tend to forget that the ability to write corrects noticeably our speaking.

2)How can writing on Twitter/LinkedIn help you?
We need to gain somehow confidence that we are going to be better in as much as we practice. I myself had never used twitter nor linkedn, and give this platforms the importance they have as we learn from platzi leaders and teachers. Because these are the media that keep us seen from recruiters, and gives us a general view of what people are looking for. So I encourage my self, first of all, to do it.

  1. How is writing connected to speaking skills?
If we exercise to write while we speak, we would come up with creative ways to say things. Also to be precise, which ability is really a need. We need to pay attention to both english skills as all our body parts need to be powerful or not at all.

I totally agree, writing in English is the best way to improve speaking. I write in English every day for the last year, and my speaking improved a lot. Without doubts, we have to practice more writing and enjoy it to have a better English level.

Low impact stressed moment = really good expresion!

  • Why is writing often de-prioritized by English learners?
I would say to complement Jess’s answer, that they de-prioritized this skill because they think that they just need to talk in English, focusing only on that skill, but they forgot a balance is needed when you want to become a better bilingual speaker
  • How can writing on Twitter/LinkedIn help you?
Writing on those social media platforms can help us to don’t worry about too many of our mistakes, people will be willing to correct us and give us feedback about what we wrote.
  • How is writing connected to speaking skills?
Is connected because is a productive skill as speaking, so when we’re writing, this is helping us to create better grammatical structures, improve our spelling, and more.
