Preposiciones de lugar y uso de "where" en Inglés

En inglés, “on” y “over” son preposiciones que se utilizan para indicar la posición de un objeto en relación con otro. Aunque tienen algunas similitudes, también tienen algunas diferencias importantes en su uso.

Algunas de las principales diferencias entre “on” y “over” en inglés son:

“On” se usa para indicar la posición de un objeto sobre otro, o en contacto con él. Por ejemplo: “The cat is on the table,” (El gato está sobre la mesa) o “The book is on the shelf,” (El libro está sobre la estantería).

“Over” se usa para indicar la posición de un objeto por encima de otro, pero sin tocarlo necesariamente. Por ejemplo: “The bird is flying over the house,” (El pájaro está volando por encima de la casa) o “The bridge goes over the river,” (El puente cruza el río por encima).

We use prepositions of place to talk about locations or placement of different things.
We will learn 13 prepositions of place: on, in, above, below, over, under, in front of, across from, behind, between, next to, to the left of, to the right of.

• Where is the ball or rectangle?
  ON: Notice that the BALL is touching and laying on the box.
  ABOVE: There is space between the BALL and the box. They are not touching.
  OVER: There is less space between the RECTANGLE and the box, and the RECTANGLE is covering the surface of the box. It’s still, there is a little space, but it is covering the surface.
  IN FROM OF: The BALL is before the box. The box is behind the BALL.
  NEXT TO: The BALL is close to the box.
  BELOW: The BALL is down from the box.
  UNDER: The RECTANGLE is down from the box.The difference between BELOW and UNDER is the space between objects. There is less space between them when we talk about UNDER.
  BEHIND: The BALL is back of the box. The BALL is afterwards in the box. The box is in front of the BALL.

• Where is the ball or apple?
  BETWEEN: the apple is in the middle of the boxes.
  Then it is the same as the previous examples: in front of, behind, under /below, ON (it is lying on the book, it is touching, it is resting on the surface of the book), next to.

• Where is the chair?
  TO THE LEFT OF: the yellow chair is to the left of the table.
  TO THE RIGHT OF: the blue chair is to the right of the table.

• Where is the park?
  ACROSS FROM: if we ‘re talking about places that have something between them (possibly a street). We say they are across from one another. The park is across from the school.

* **Over** implica que algo está por encima de otro objeto pero no necesariamente tocándolo. Puede indicar un movimiento que cruza o que esta cubriendo algo. Ejemplo: The blanket is **over** the bed. La manta está *sobre* la cama. * **On** indica contacto directo y estático con una superficie. Ejemplo: The book is **on** the table. In the A1 level, we learned about these prepositions of place. But it's good to review it again, so I can keep practicing.

"Next to" se utiliza para indicar que un objeto está al lado de otro, sin especificar si está a la derecha o izquierda. Por ejemplo, puedes decir "The book is next to the lamp" (El libro está junto a la lámpara). Para indicar una posición específica, como derecha o izquierda, debes usar "to the right of" o "to the left of". Así que "next to" es más general y útil para describir proximidad sin implicar dirección.

La diferencia entre "on" y "over" en inglés radica en su uso con respecto a la posición de objetos: - **On** se utiliza cuando un objeto está en contacto directo con otro. No me queda claro porque en el último ejemplo: My house is next to of the school. Y no to the left, si en el mismo video dijo que si no hay con que comprar si se puede usar esta preposición y justamente el school está entre la house y el pool.

A veces me confundo porque pueden haber mas preposiciones respecto del lugar por ejemplo un cafe esta next to de un negocio pero tambien puede estar to the right of. Good morning teacher I have question for the picture in the video minute 9:50 "the glass of water is **in front of** the keyboard", not is behind of?, because in front of the keyboard is the screen? or in my perspective the keyboard is **in front of** a glass of water.  Can you explain to me if I'm correct, or not? Thanks
