Expresando preferencia o arrepentimiento

Puedes utilizar la expresión “would rather” para hablar de preferencias, o la expresión “would have rather” para hablar de arrepentimientos con un vocabulario más forml y avanzado. Otra opción más es combinar este vocabulario con “than” para realizar comparaciones más evidentes.

Veamos varios ejemplos: - I would rather study programming. - I would have rather bought a computer with more RAM. Mine is really slow! - He would have rather focused on his studies than played video games all day. Now he can't get a job! - I would rather attend these seminars for self-improvement than play video games all day. - She would rather work this weekend than the next holiday.

I regret about not taking opportunies, I would have rather finished my career.

I do want to prioritize my service to Jesús, so, it´s time to learn more about evangelize, and preaching the good news.

  • What do you regret about the past?
    • I started studying Architecture, but I haven’t any idea about what I wanted from my life, so I switched to Economics after almost 3 years of been in Architecture. I would have rather switched before, now I would be younger.
  • What do you want to prioritize in the future?
    • Since at least my high school, I have been interested in all the Japanese stuff, from anime to culture, but just last year I started studying Japanese. I would rather study it directly in japan, but that’s my budget at the moment.
  • What changes do you need to make to improve your current life and workflow?
    • I’m usually in front of my computer all day, even though I go swimming at least 3 times a week, when the gym needs to clean the pool, they close it and I don’t even walk on the treadmill. I think it’s time to start walking.
