This is really for what i paid for? lol
Jess Harris we need the explanations of the answers, that would help us a lot.

I actually think they meant to write “emphatic” which means giving emphasis (I think the professor was emphatic) rather than empathic, which means showing empathy, that plays no role in that phrase at all (in my opinion).

If so, please correct it

In the attitude question, i still thinking is a neutral attitude, inclusive after replay the audio

It’s so frustrating that we don’t have the explanations of questions, neither some answers for our questions (in the comments) nor corrections of mistakes that are on the example questions/answers.

Explanations about the answers are very important. I think the correct answer is neutral, because the teacher is describing the situation, he isn´t judging the situation.

### **Purpose questions** #### **What are they?** * These questions ask **why** the speaker says or mentions something. #### **What do they look like?** * "Why does the professor or student mention X?" * "Why does the professor or student describe X?" #### **Tips for answering** 1. Look for **signal phrases** like "in other words," "for example," or "in contrast to." 2. Identify information that seems off-topic—it may be important. ### **Method questions** #### **What are they?** * These questions ask **how** the speaker explains or discusses something. #### **What do they look like?** * "How does the speaker, professor, or student explain X?" #### **Tips for answering** 1. Focus on **comparisons, examples, or counterexamples** used by the speaker. 2. Ignore obvious or general assumptions and pay attention to specific methods. ### **Attitude questions** #### **What are they?** * These questions ask about the speaker’s feelings, emotions, or certainty about a topic. #### **What do they look like?** * "What is the professor’s attitude toward X?" * "How certain is the professor about X?" #### **Tips for answering** 1. Pay attention to **tone of voice, pauses**, and words that express emotion. 2. Analyze whether the speaker seems confident, unsure, excited, or neutral. ### **Replay questions** #### **What are they?** * These questions replay a specific part of the lecture, and you must identify the function, reason, or meaning of that segment. #### **What do they look like?** * "Pay attention to the following excerpt of the conversation." #### **Tips for answering** 1. **Identify the speaker’s stance**: What is their main point or opinion? 2. **Connect the fragment**: Understand how it relates to the rest of the lecture.

i don’t understend anything…

This is frustrating. I dont know how to juggle with all the information provided having in mind that we are able to listen just once. :(
For the replay question practice the answer is C
For the practice about the attitude question I think the answer is d
For the second practice example the answer is A
For the first practice example I consider that the answer is B
