In the exciting world of creativity, understanding and applying different individual methodologies can make a significant difference. These methodologies allow us to delve into the deepest waters of our minds, where the greatest and most valuable ideas reside. As David Lynch put it when he said that "ideas are like fish," the search for them involves diving into the depths of personal thought and experience.
Inspiration can come from a variety of places and experiences, and we can identify three main sources:
Lived experiences bring an invaluable richness. Take some video games for example: "The Last Guardian" is inspired by the simple relationship between a dog and its owner, transformed into a connection with a giant creature. "God of War" explores the complexity of maturity through the father-son dynamic. In "Braid," human feelings such as heartbreak are navigated, showing how gaming can connect with intimate experiences.
The environment and what surrounds us is another powerful source of inspiration. Miyamoto, creator of "The Legend of Zelda," found ideas in his childhood explorations of the forest. Studio Ghibli's Miyazaki inspired scenes from "My Neighbor Totoro" by observing the banality of an electrical tower. Even the image of a city allowed Will Wright to create "The Sims", a game about urban management and simulation.
In addition, other media such as cinema and music are fundamental. "Metal Gear Solid" finds its genesis in the movie "Skate from New York". Psychological games draw on the archetypes of Carl Gustav Jung, and "Eternal Sonata" takes its narrative from the late composer Frédéric Chopin's visions.
In addition to finding inspiration, there are specific methods for fostering creative thinking and idea generation:
Kishotenketsu is a method from Japanese storytelling that brings a unique twist (plot twist) to stories. Similar to the Western three-act scheme (introduction, development and conclusion), Kishotenketsu introduces a disruptive element that challenges the audience's expectations, generating a memorable impact.
The Combining Things method focuses on deconstructing a topic into its basic components. Through the identification of related keywords, and by creating a list of synonyms, antonyms and analogies, these elements can be recombined to bring new creative ideas to life. This approach is especially useful in conceptualizing games or other creative tasks.
The AEIOU methodology focuses on analyzing a topic from five key categories:
By defining a problem or issue in question, a table is created that explores questions and answers within each category, providing a holistic view rich in relevant details. This method is ideal for getting a clear picture of all the elements involved in a project.
These methodologies are not just tools for theorizing; on the contrary, they can be actively implemented in your daily projects, be it developing a game, teaching a class, or creative solutions within your work. As a personal recommendation, explore and experiment with these methods, and observe how they transform your creative process and enrich your results. The key is to be open to discovering new ways of thinking and innovating, always with the spirit of delving into new waters and catching the big goldfish that are valuable ideas.

Por lo general siempre aplico las metodologias hasta en juegos ya sea minecraft al ver los mecanismos de redstone o hasta en juego diversos por lo general siempre hago otra cosa muy distinta a lo planeado pero me da el mismo resultado
