How to create a company page on LinkedIn?

Do you want to boost your brand's digital presence and you haven't created your LinkedIn company page yet? You're in the right place. LinkedIn not only functions as a professional network to connect with colleagues, but it is also a fantastic tool to strengthen and give visibility to your business. This guide will take you step-by-step through the process of creating a company page, ensuring that your brand is positioned in the best possible way on this platform.

What do you need before you get started?

Before you deploy your company on LinkedIn, you need to make sure you have a firm foundation. To begin with, it is essential to have a personal LinkedIn profile. It does not need to be 100% optimized, but it must exist, because without it, you will not be able to create the business page.

In addition, it is essential to have clearly defined branding for your brand. This includes:

  • Colors
  • Typographies
  • Images related to your brand

These elements will accompany you throughout the course and are crucial to maintain a consistent image on LinkedIn.

How to start the process on LinkedIn?

Once you have logged into your LinkedIn profile, the process is fairly straightforward:

  1. At the top of the profile, click on Me.
  2. Next to it you will see Product; click and scroll down.
  3. Select Create a company page to get started.

LinkedIn provides several options when creating a company type, but in this case, we'll select Company.

How to complete your page information?

When you choose the Company option, you will need to fill in certain details:

  • Company Name: If it is a personal brand, use your name. If it is a startup or company, use the company name, as you would do with Platzi for Platzi.

  • Company Link: It must be consistent with other channels. For example, if in networks you identify yourself as Marí Fernández TV, use the same on LinkedIn.

  • Website: Enter the link to your website, or even to a free resource you want to promote.

  • Sector: Although LinkedIn offers limited options, choose the one that most closely resembles your activity.

  • Company Size: Define the size based on your team, considering from freelancers to large teams.

What type of company can you specify?

Determine the type of business you are registering. Options include:

  • Public Company
  • Self-employed
  • Governmental
  • Non-profit
  • Private Financial

What should you keep in mind about the logo and slogan?

Finally, don't forget to upload your company logo. If it is a personal brand, it is recommended to use your personal image instead of the logo. Also, identify a tagline that highlights the essence of your brand and how it helps your potential customers.

What is the final step in this process?

Once you complete all the necessary fields and details, you must agree to LinkedIn's privacy terms, indicating that you are the authorized representative of the brand. By acting as the CEO or leader of the company, you're ready to click Create Page and your business presence on LinkedIn is ready.

Roll up your sleeves and start building your company's image on LinkedIn. Don't forget, if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section - I'll be happy to help! Keep going, with each step you get closer to strengthening your brand in the digital world.
