¿Qué es "estar a punto de"?

Estar a punto de se utiliza para expresar que algo va a suceder muy pronto, casi en el inmediato futuro. La estructura que se usa es simple: sujeto + verbo to be + about to + verbo en su forma base. Es importante recordar que no se añade la terminación -ing al verbo ni se conjuga en pasado.

Ejemplos:
