Tonight, I watched a TED Talk made by Barbara Corcoran, you might have seen her in Shark Tank.

She was talking about failure and how some of her best successes came from those failure. One of the biggest examples was when she started creating the Corcoran Group (which was sold by 66 million dollars) it started after her company she started with her first love was split due to their separation, when that happened he told Barbara "you know you'll never succeed without me" and, quoting her "I felt to my heart and to every bone of my body that I'd rather die that let him see me not succeed"

I think it's an interesting talk because sometimes we see the failure as the end of the world, but sometimes that blind us of the opportunities can come after that. I'll let the link in case anyone wants to see it.

    Hi Platzi English Mates! 🙋‍♂️

Don't forget to join the telegram group... .

My wife currently is a student in a Virtual career at SENA (National Learning Service) here in Colombia, and she asked me for help for a english task that she had to do.

Of course, I helped her. First we saw an interactive material (a few old) but interesting of how to prepare for a job interview. Here we repeat aloud the phrases and I helped her to translate the words or sentences that she doesn't understood.

Finally I learned several phrases I didn´t know and increase my vocabulary with this phrases that I share you:

    • Big gun / Big cheese / Big wheel / Big wig

      • It refers to an important person or a leader.
    • Give someone the green light

      • Give permission to do something like a deal or a project.
    • To generate lots of buzz

      • Cause many people to tal in a positive way about a service or product.

    Regards!

    Hi, my friends,and learners!

I live in a city next to the Bogota,It's Soacha. Last week, it had a lot of fights between ESMAD (police),and some people, because they don't have where to live at this moment. A young man dies, for the ESMAD, and it to do those people and ways of communication posting and speaking. It was a very bad notice because he was 15 years old.

We should work for a better country.

The truth was is that the webinar was amazing. I learnt a lesson very important, "++A picture is worth a thousand words++", like today Carolina taught us. I recommend this topic. Look for "Visual thinking"!!!!

Hey, fellow community. The most recent book I read could be considered a classic: Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. Before starting, it has no relation with the music band outside the name. Said this tiny joke, let's start.

Siddhartha is an allegoric book about life itself. It talks about the dubitative moments we face once we attempt to accomplish another people desires; our parents established life plans for our lives, the success quest by following others who claim having the secret of life, but can't open any lock and the dragging vicissitudes in our journey, which often made us choose instant gratification over long term goals. At your deathrattle, will you leave this ephemeral existence living another life or will your last breath be filled with satisfaction and gratitude?
That's it. Hope you enjoyed it!

Today, I read "Too big! Too small!". It's a beautiful book for kids. Excellent for beginners like me who also have children in house. The story is about a girl who was puzzled because she was too big for some activities and too small for another activities. But, finally, she had a perfect size for wonderful hugs.

    Regards everyone!

    Hi everybody

A few days ago, I read an aticle by Whashintong Post for a platzi challenge, this article speak about chaos caused by rats in USA, because the quarantine has made the restaurants closed, making less garbage, the rats doesn't find food and it look for food in the suburbs, people has had rat invasions in their homes and in some cases, rats resort to cannibalism, it's creepy.
