I think that he must have a monument because he was the unique person that was in opposition.
He did wonderful things like prevent a foreign invasion at Baja California Mexico with a group of a bit men and without government support. He and his men were alone against an invading army of hundreds.
Only a little group stopped them with creativity and intelligence.
Although his exploits were incredible he was executed by the government itself that protected. Here the story complete
I hope that you liked it. Thanks for read me :D

I'm Oscar and this is my opinion about monuments:
Monuments that represents famous people are meaningless to me. I understand many people done important things to better community, health, peace, enviroment or something like that and in most cases, the actions these people did were against adverse situations, injustice or searching for common welfare. My point is that obviously they deserve mention and recongnition but a monument in this case puts their accomplishments as an unreachable goal or something "common people" can't do. A monument built for a famous person seems to be a prove that something extraordinary happend but the focus isn't the act, the focus is the person and I think the real sense of the monument in this case, is lost. Monuments about historical people, for example, is ok to me because people always speak about the person and the event behind. And mainly these kind of monuments make places looks great and interesting because of history.
To me, a monument must be about actions. For example, I'd like to see many monuments about science, doctors, nurses and people's effort to survive COVID pandemic, because the action is not focused on a person or an specific group of people, the action is about a huge crowd who works together everyday for all of us and normally does in many areas not only medical.
Greetings!

The famous person in my country that I choose is Daniel Alcides Carrión.

He was a doctor and a researcher. He put his life at risk finding a cure for the Oroya fever. He is considered one of the fathers of Peruvian medicine thanks for his bravery in the researching of this disease. This unique fact makes it incredible and honorable to choose and put a statue of him.

I think the right person for a statue could be Catherine Ibarguen she shows to every Colombian girl that resilience and passion for your carrer is one of the top qualities that trough you to acheve the success in every stage of your life.
The sports is one of the pure ways that enhanced the good values of every human.
She's not inspire a generation she make more for that.
