Writing in any language is a great practice, as it allows us to consciously review our knowledge of grammar and writing in a new language.
Language correction
**While writing we can review all the details of the Portuguese language and go back and correct as many times as we want. This is something we cannot do when we are conversing, since the practice is more accelerated.
Not to mention that when we finish writing we can ask for feedback from a friend who has a native or more advanced level of the language, in order to learn from our mistakes.
Thinking
Our thinking is pleasantly rewarded, because through writing our brain has the opportunity to think on its own, using the grammar and words learned in the language.
Ways to practice writing
Some ways to practice writing in another language can be through: * A diary * Words and phrases we know * The lyrics of our favorite song * A to-do list * A shopping list * Notes in Portuguese * Comments on Platzi's Portuguese courses * A blog post in Portuguese * Messages to other classmates who are learning Portuguese
Challenge
Take paper and pencil, or your favorite digital media, to write in Portuguese your morning routine. That is, what you do after waking up and before lunch.
In conclusion, writing allows us to check as many times as we want, but it also encourages us to think for ourselves with the vocabulary and grammatical rules we have mastered.
