How to add extra information about animals, things and concepts by using the words WHICH and THAT.

• Examples:

1. “The racehorse is retiring”. “The race horse turned 5 years old”.
   How could I add that extra piece of information? “The racehorse, WHICH/THAT turned 5 years old, is retiring”
   When you use WHICH it’s a little more formal and when you use THAT it’s a little less formal. It’s very common to use the word THAT.

2. “My dog always looks so sad”. “I adore my dog”.
   How would I put these in a sentence? “My dog, WHICH/THAT/WHO* I adore, always looks so sad”.
   I sometimes feel like an animal is more than just an animal. They feel almost like people and therefore sometimes I could also use the word WHO.

3. “My job is making me crazy”. “I love my job”.
   “My job, WHICH/THAT I love, is making me crazy”. But you can’t say: “My job which is making me crazy I love”.
   Because, if we take out the part “witch is making me crazy” then we get a sentence like this “my job I love”. It’s an incomplete sentence.

4. “The love from my family is endless”. “The love of my family gives me strength”.
   “The love from my family, WHICH/THAT is endless, gives me strength”. And you also can say: “The love from my family, WHICH/THAT gives me strength, is endless”.
   The reason why in the last example you can put one concept at the beginning or at the end, is because if you remove “that gives me strength”, you get a complete sentence. “The love from my family is endless”.
