Adverbs are words that give more information about verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They explain how, when, where, or to what degree something occurs.
Adverbs that express combinations and similarities often express how actions or qualities are related or comparable to each other.
Expressing Combinations
- Together - "They traveled together to the conference.”
- Jointly - "They jointly funded the new community center."
- Simultaneously - "The software updates were deployed simultaneously across all servers."
- Collectively - "They collectively brainstormed ideas for the new marketing campaign."
- Mutually - "The companies signed a mutually agreeable partnership agreement."
Expressing Similarities
- Similarly - "She completed the project on time; similarly, her colleague met all the deadlines."
- Likewise - "The manager praised the team's effort; likewise, the clients were very appreciative of the work done."
- Equally - "The responsibilities were equally distributed among the team members."
- Comparably - "The two proposals were comparably impressive in terms of creativity and feasibility."
In the same way - "The marketing team increased their social media outreach, and in the same way, the sales team expanded their online presence."
