This Platzi web site is so confusing. So much spanish text, and I never even realized I had to pay to unlock the tutorials, why didn't it just tell me that up front?

I, too, was caught off-guard by the Spanish language being default. I went through the whole checkout process IN ENGLISH, only to be surprised on the final redirect that I was taken to a site that I could not natively understand. Luckily, I took some spanish classes in my past, so was able to understand enough of the language to navigate to where I needed to get. I expect a language selector should be in the navbar. Where is it???

I am over the fact that the site is in spanish but by biggest gripe is...

I am unable to watch any of the videos on this course that I just paid $9 for. On Chrome and Firefox, the spinner just keeps spinning. I tried soft and hard refreshing, i tried Safari too, nothing I know how to do will get these videos to play.

Here's how my experience went:

Saw a Sails.js tutorial I was interested in LISTED ON THE SAILS.JS OFFICIAL WEBSITE!!
Decided the $9 price was fair.
Was effortlessly guided through a simple-to-use web checkout process in perfect english.
After my payment was processed, I was directed to a website that was entirely in spanish, with no clear way to change it.
Miraculously knew enough spanish to be able to navigate myself to these videos.
Videos would not work on any browser I had installed (Safari, Chrome, Firefox).

The whole process felt like a bait-and-switch. Terrible experience 0/5. Sad; I was really looking forward to a video guide. Guess I will do what I should have done in the first place, and read the documentation instead.

I am having the same problem. It's worrying that no one from Sails has even replied to your posting. I'm the person responsible for assessing Sails as part of a REST API framework selection bakeoff and this is not a good start. It does not inspire confidence in the operational competence of the company. (Not the problem with Spanish - part of technology is having problems with technology - but the failure to address the problem after months. Well run companies don't ignore their paying customers.)

Anyway here's one thing I tried that has helped: if you're using Chrome turn on the automatic translation feature to convert Spanish to English. It has resolved some of the problem for me.

what do you mean by text in spanish ? nothing in the video content as i watched it, maybe it’s the caption, you can change it to english or turn it of from the gear icon

Those are great reasons to use Vue.js as grunt/gulp/webpack do have a learning curve and add some unnecessary headache when learning concepts.

I would add that Babel has an in-browser version, which is also great for prototyping and circumventing those loaders, making it easier to quickly use JSX and React:
