How to use Get, Have, and Make as Causative Verbs

Resumen

Puedes usar Get, Have, y Make de una manera diferente, como verbos causitivos, para expresarle a alguien que haga algo o darle instrucciones.

GET: Convencer a alguien de que haga algo.
Con esta estructura:

Get + noun + to + verb:

  • I got my brother to go to the same college as me.
  • He got your friends to pay for the dinner.

HAVE: Darle la responsabilidad a alguien de hacer algo.
Con esta estructura:

Have + noun + verb:

  • The mom has her children clean their rooms.
  • My boss had me write the report over and over again.

MAKE: Forzar a alguien a hacer algo.
Con esta estructura:

Make + noun + verb:

  • My cousin made me take it to the park.
  • Your boyfriend made her turn off her cellphone.
