Link building is an SEO strategy that consists of getting links from other websites with high authority to link to our site.
There are different strategies to gain links that increase the authority of our domain.
Find links through your competitors
In the ubersuggest tool you enter a keyword or search term related to your website and several sites will be displayed.
Choose one of these well positioned sites and then click on the bakclinks button. This will display all the links pointing to that selected website.
Once you have identified those websites you look for options to interact with the people responsible for their administration and offer information available on your site that may be useful to them, thus getting them to link to your site.
Finding links through sites that only mention your brand name
Another way to find links is through brand mentions. To do this, let's use the ahrefs tool.
You type in a specific brand of your interest, for example lapelotona.com, and click. Then, you select the option of that tool called Content Explorer, which helps us to see all the contents that mention a specific topic.
Afterwards, you select the option One page per domain, so that we tell ahrefs to show us only one page for each domain that has spoken all over the internet about your brand or the one you have chosen at the beginning.
Additionally, select the functionality that says Highlight unliked domains, that is, to show the domains that talk about that brand, but are not creating a link, and next step press Apply.
What do you achieve by identifying these sites?
You manage to identify the sites that mention a specific brand, for example, one on which you want to boost its positioning, but this mention does not contain a link to the site of the brand in question.
What can you do to take advantage of a link building strategy?
Seek to establish contact with those sites and ask in a very friendly way that if it is not too much trouble to add the link when they mention your brand and, consequently, you would get a link pointing to your site or to the site on which you are running SEO strategy.
In short, we have reviewed two ways that we can use to create links and increase the authority of the website: one is to look at what the competition has and, from that, analyze which ones we can get that are similar from it; and secondly, find mentions of our brand that do not have the link to the website.
I invite you to explore other ways to get links that can increase the authority of your website, for example, through Google alerts, which is a simple tool that will notify you every time someone mentions your brand or something of your interest.
With this option you can set alerts that are triggered when someone mentions your website or brand, so you can check if the link is being used correctly, plus it opens the opportunity to thank, connect and build a relationship with other sites that already show interest in your site/brand.
