These words can be used to show relationships between ideas, such as addition, contrast, cause and effect, and so on. Examples of connectors or linking words include "however," "therefore," "in addition," "nevertheless," "meanwhile," "similarly," "as a result," "in conclusion," and many others.

So, to answer your question, in terms of their function and use, "connectors" and "linking words" can be considered interchangeable. However, the specific terminology may vary depending on the context or the style guide being used.
