¿Por qué usar "the" en ambas partes?
Porque la palabra "The" actúa como el pegamento que une la causa con el efecto. En el inglés cotidiano, solemos asociar "the" únicamente con artículos definidos (el, la, los, las), pero en esta estructura específica, su función cambia por completo. Aquí funciona como un adverbio que indica "en esa medida" o "en ese grado".
Si omites el "The" y dices algo como More I study, more I learn, la oración suena incompleta y confusa para un hablante nativo, como si le faltara el motor a un coche. Al colocar "The" al principio de ambas frases, estás creando un puente invisible que le dice al cerebro de quien te escucha: "Atención, el nivel de la primera cosa que voy a mencionar dictará exactamente el nivel de la segunda". Es la señal de tráfico que marca el inicio de una proporción directa.
