Restrictive Clauses
A restrictive clause restricts or defines the meaning of a noun or noun phrase and provides necessary information about the noun in the sentence. It is not separated from the rest of the sentence by commas. Restrictive clauses are more common in writing than nonrestrictive clauses. A restrictive clause is also sometimes referred to as an essential clause or phrase.

I’m sorry but I think I’m not understanding. When I read the definitions, everything’s clear. A restrictive clause gives necessary information while a non-restrictive clause gives additional information. However, when I look at the examples, the only difference I notice is the commas. The information is necessary when you don’t put the commas and it becomes additional when you do put them.

Coloquially, I would correct this answer. If you’re going to include the word “in,” I would change the relative pronoun to “that;” however, if you want the word “where,” remove the word “in!”
