Make questions: formular preguntas correctamente.
Make suggestions and invites: hacer sugerencias e invitaciones.
Talk about the future: hablar sobre planes y eventos futuros.
Give orders and make requests: dar órdenes y hacer peticiones.
Express a motive and give reasons: expresar motivos y dar razones.

La historia de ejemplo se titula The End of the Year Party [0:40].

Many vs. Much: la oración there were many things to do requiere many porque things es un sustantivo contable en plural.

Planning the End of the Year Party

Sebastian lived in a small town, but he worked for a big company. The company is called

Liv4Change. He was in charge of the Wellness team in the HR department, and since this

was his first year in the role, he was planning for the most important event of the year, the

end-of-the-year party, and boy! There were many things to do.

He met up with his team since the first of November to start assigning tasks and to motivate

them to do their best. He told them, “Let’s make this end-of-the-year party the best the

company has ever had.” Sebastian is very passionate about what he does in the company

because he loves making people happy and making them feel important.

At first, he didn’t know what the theme of the party should have been. He had not only one

idea but many. Eventually, he narrowed it down to three _ideas__ (idea/ideas), but at

the end, he chose the neon party theme. He didn’t have _much_ (much/many)

experience planning parties; therefore, he had to hire a party planner to bring his vision to

life. __The_ (A/The) party planner thought that the neon-party theme was vibrant and

energetic, with neon lights and glow-in-the-dark decorations.

Sebastian and his team weren’t sure if to hire a band or a DJ, so he held a meeting where

he asked his team, “_Which__ (What/Which) should we choose, a band or a DJ?” After

voting, he noticed both options were tied. For that reason, he requested a budget increase,

which was approved so that they could hire both a band and a DJ. Choosing the DJ was

easy, but choosing the band wasn’t, so they decided to write names and pick from a bag.

The band that won was Fruko y sus Tesos. Sebastian asked, “_Whose__ (Which/Whose)

idea was it to hire the Fruko y sus Tesos? That is my favorite salsa band. I think we made a

good choice.”

A few days before the party, Sebastian was starting to get sick. However, he wasn’t

worried. He said, “If I _can’t__ (can’t/would like to) smell anything, then I know I am

really sick, but for now, I feel like it is under control.” The day before the event, he couldn’t

stay still. At the venue, he moved _from__ (because/from) the entrance to the main

hall. ensuring everything was in place.

On the night of the party, he told his team, “__Let’s__ (Let’s/Will) have fun tonight. We

all deserve it.” Everyone at the party seemed to be having a great time. The atmosphere

was electric. There were neon signs and balloons, a cool LED dance floor, and glowing

centerpieces. The guests wore neon-colored clothing and accessories.

When people were getting hungry, they went to the different food trucks to choose their

meals. Sebastian went to the Mexican food truck even though he didn’t like spicy food, but

his friend made a bet with him and asked him, “__Will__ (Will/Would you like to) you try

the tacos with some jalapeños?” Sebastian hesitated for a moment but then took on the

challenge. He told the waiter, “I __would like to__ (can’t/would like to) order some tacos with

jalapeños. He actually enjoyed it; it wasn’t that bad after all. Sebastian even said, “I

__am going to__ (am going to/today) start eating spicy food from now on.”

Throughout the party, Sebastian danced _around__ (around/along). He was not only

making sure the employees were entertained, but he was also having a lot of fun. At the

end of the party, he told everyone, “__Please_ (Let’s/Please) don’t forget to fill out the

survey about the party.” He also said, “Your feedback is very important to us. With your

responses, we will make the end-of-the-year party for __next__ (next/at the moment)

year even better.”

Sebastian was very proud of his team __because__ (because/much) the party was a huge

success. The neon party became a memorable event, leaving everyone talking about it for

weeks to come.
