Present simple for general states and descriptions

Simple present is the structure that we use to describe general events, general states, descriptions about people, general descriptions.
The conjugation is simple, but if we are using a pronoun he, she or it; we add -s to the verb.

Examples

I feel more energized after I take a nap.

  • He feels more energized after he takes a nap.
    She works more since she is in the new position.
  • We work more since we are in the new position.
    We are lucky we could get tickets.
  • He is lucky he could get tickets.
    Rick and Joe study in the same university.
  • They study in the same university.
    I work every day from 9 to 5.
  • He works every day from 9 to 5.
    Marty is a brilliant student.
  • They are brilliant students.
