Imagine you are 70 years old, drinking a coffee in a starbuck and suddendly a person shouts your full name, you are looking at her and at the same time trying to search in your brain memory the face and trying to answer, who is this person? she sounds like I am very familiar to her but, why can’t I remember? am I too old?.
Then the person salutes you and say “Teacher, I am Rita Lopez and you gave me classes during elementary school, your subject was the best of all! I still remember you were teaching us through stories, and I found that very good for me and insightful”.
Why are we using storytelling in our classes? the simple answer is: your brain will receive the stories better.
As we have to consider several elements while giving all of our best to our students, the preparation on storytelling will be a win-win, your audience will appreciate each story and the learning will be better, and you will be leveraging a resource that is available and can be one of the top 3 things you need to have to be a solid teacher.
