How hard is it?
You might have heard people say: The TOEFL test is hard, don’t even try or Why waste your money on that?, You don’t need it. The truth is: Yes, you need it; and Yes, it is hard (but not impossible). Good results come with effort, practice and dedication (this applies to life, not only to learning English) so you cannot expect to do well in the TOEFL test if you do not prepare properly. It is not about how hard the TOEFL is, it is about how you can prepare for it.
Your four communicative skills will be tested as universities want to know that you are ready to succeed in an academic environment. The TOEFL test will present scores on your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills providing you and the admission officers with a true reflection of your abilities. You will be asked to prove that you can identify main ideas, infer information, locate details and develop tasks; so bear in mind that this is not a placement test, this is an “X-Ray” of English level.
