During my last vacation, I was thinking about learning French.
Before you travel to Europe, try to learn something about their culture.
Before you sit down, could you please give me the documents?
I learned English during my vacation.
The prepositional phrase "before" is used to indicate a time that occurs earlier than another event. For example, in the sentence "Before going home, please turn off the lights," "before" introduces the action of turning off the lights that must happen prior to the act of going home. This structure helps provide clarity about the sequence of events, guiding the listener's understanding of when something should occur.
These examples showcase how "during" can introduce prepositional phrases that provide context about time.
The prepositional phrase "during" is used to indicate a specific time period when an action or event takes place. It introduces a timeframe and connects it to the action that follows. For example, in the sentence "We can discuss our next course during lunch," "during lunch" specifies when the discussion will happen. It clarifies the context of the action, enhancing the overall meaning of the statement.
