Romany Dear

I am an artist, teacher, dancer, performing artist, activist and social worker. I currently work as a freelance English Language teacher, delivering one on one classes to people studying english as a foreign language.

My clases are completely tailored to the varying needs of every student, I teach conversation skills, grammar courses and TOEFL prep. I believe my work as a dance and movement practioner strengthens my ability to work with people, and my interpersonal skills as a language profesor. I also work as a support worker and inclusive dance teacher for people with disabilities and learning difficulties. I am a freelance dance and performance artist, in where I work with choreographic and corporal practices within the context of the arts, education and the community.

I recently graduated from a Masters in Interdisciplinary Live Arts with electives in gender and disabilities studies. My research as an artist and educator is based on dance as a practice of collectivity and social action.

My philosophy is that everyone is a dancer and we are all experts at moving. I am currently working and performing as part of "La Compañía" a multidisciplinary artist collective based in Bogota, Colombia.
