PAST SIMPLE PASSIVE: STRUCTURE: Object - "new subject" + Verb to be + Past participle + complement and/or "old subject"
Example: Harry Potter was written by J.K Rowling
Understanding the difference between active voice and passive voice is essential for anyone looking to improve their English grammar skills. This explanation breaks down the mechanics of the past simple passive, showing step by step how to identify the key elements of a sentence and rearrange them to shift emphasis from the doer to the action or the object.
Tomemos la oración "A dog chased the ball" [2:10]. Los tres componentes son:
Al transformarla: The ball was chased by a dog.

In the active voice, the subject does the action and in the passive voice, the subject receives the action, I mean the focus is on the subject in the second part.
For example:
AV: Marina wrapped the present.
PV: The present was wrapped by Marina.
In the first sentence, Marina is the subject and she does the action and in the second one, the present is the subject and it receives the action.
