Prefix and Sufix

  1. What are indefinite pronouns?
Nouns: are words used to refer to people, places or things. The subject of the sentence.

The pronouns: substitute the nouns.

  1. Prefixes and suffixes.

Prefix: are those letters that we use words at the beginning of a word to make a different word.
When we talk about:

  • All: we use Every-
  • A part: we use Some- or any-
  • Absence: we use No-

Suffix: are those letters that we add at the end of the words to make a different one.
In idefinite pronous when we’re talking about:

  • People: we use -body or -one.
  • Places: we use -where.
  • Things: we use -thing.

It’s important to remember that if we want to use the preffix no and the suffix one together, they come separated. No one

Furthermore, we don´t use nobody/no one, nothin or nowhere in negative clauses because that is a double denial.

  1. Conjugation rules
  • Everybody/everyone: refers to all people BUT the correct conjugation is in a singular form.

  • Somebody: refers to an unspecified person

  • Anybody/anyone: refers to an unspecified person- doesn’t matter who; is used for questions

Los "nouns" o sustantivos son palabras que nombran a personas, lugares, cosas o ideas. En inglés, se dividen en contables e incontables. Los sustantivos contables se pueden contar (uno, dos, tres), mientras que los incontables no se pueden contar de esa manera (agua, información). En la clase, se discutieron ejemplos de cómo usar pronombres indefinidos para sustituir sustantivos, facilitando la comunicación en inglés.
