Hello again, I share with you the first activity for this lesson:

  • There’s no need to boot up the local server when we arrive at the office, it is always on!
  • I couldn’t log in to my GitHub account I had forgotten the password.
  • I always log off from my email when I access it on a public computer.
  • One could get lost scrolling up and down TikTok infinite scroll.
  • Always make a back-up in case you wipe out your computer by accident.
  • Most services online require to sign up even when they’re free, that could get so frustrating.

And here some own examples using these phrasal verbs:

  • Please boot up the computer quickly! We need to do that report now!
  • If I want to watch my lessons on Platzi I need to log in.
  • Before you clean your computer and wipe out all your files, you must back up the most important information.
  • It’s a piece of cake creating an account on Gmail. He just needs to sign up.

My own examples

  • When I’m tired, always I forgot to log out my WhatsApp account
  • Often Platzi require me, that log in to verify that I have a subscription
  • My mom already learned how to boot up the computer.
  • Never had I lost so much time, like when I use social networks. I can spend two hours only scroll down on Instagram
  • I prefer to sign up with Google, is like a piece of cake for me.

Boot up: turn on
Log in: enter to get access
Log out / log off: exit
Scroll up or scroll down: move the screen
Wipe out: erase all the information
Sign up: write your name or your email or both

  1. I forget boot up the computer after to reset it

  3. Don´t log out until you finish the class
  4. Scroll up to find again the video
  5. All files was wipe out of the memory
  6. I signed up and started new session

Obviously “Sign up” means “Register in a web site” and “Registrarte” in Spanish but, I think this same phrase means “Darte de alta” for the Spain people

  • Can you see the red button? It’s for booting up the laptop.
  • This platform session expires too quickly, and that’s quite a pain because it forces you to log in over and over.
  • Don’t forget to log out of your Paypal account before leaving your workplace.
  • This website isn’t responsive. It has some issues with scrolling up and down on mobile devices.
  • Those damn hackers asked for money not to wipe out our files.
  • If you want to keep reading the article, you have to sign up for the website.

When i do my homework i need to boot up my computer, then i log in into my academy website, i scroll up at the top and i click into the word file, then i wipe out the written, i write my homework and send to log off and be free

At night, I always log off my computer.
I hope that never on my computer all my files wipe up

Here are my own examples:
1.- I try to log off my computer everytime I take a rest of my job.
2.-Yesterday, I signed up to Canva, a very useful design tool.
3.-When I boot up my computer I have to select a OS 'cause I have a dual booting.
4.-I backed up all my files into a external disk, unfortunately my sister wiped out the disk. (Wanna cry!)

When I was teenager, I wiped out accidentally all my information from my father´s computer. So he lost the whole information from a 1-year project. Hopefully, he had backed up it in an external memory, thus he can recover it all 😃

  • Go offline: not use internet
  • In the 90´s computers used to take ages to boot up, you did not have to sign up to star and people did not care out wiping up their search history.
