Whenever a client wants to call the shots in the creative ideas, I sometimes cave in under his insistence. Sometimes it’s easier to go back to square one and write a new script, even if the one I had was aimed to promote the client’s cash cow. So, rather than go back to the drawing board and start a new strategy from 0, I’ll rather listen, executes his wishes and call it a day.
Why is it better to call the shots?
When you call the shots, you are the one in charge making the critical decisions that steer a project, giving you the autonomy to execute your vision without waiting for endless approvals. Imagine directing a film where you decide the camera angles, the lighting, and the final cut; this level of control ensures consistency and speed in execution, even though it means you also own the failures. It is the perfect idiom to describe leadership roles, project managers, or anyone who has the final say in a professional, high-stakes environment.
