Platzi is state of the art in online education!

Some meanings of idioms:

  • Pull the plug: stop a project suddenly (we stop the project) or take someone or something off of life support.
  • State of the art: the most up-to-date, the latest technology.
  • In the long run: is another way to say eventually or over a period of time. Ex, In the long run, we will be able to meet demands, but now we are running behind.
  • Well-oiled machine: means to say something that runs or operates very well or very smoothly. It can be with people too.
  • Cutting edge: it means the latest, greatest version.

⚠️ State of the art VS Cutting edge

  • State of the art: describes something that has been constructed/made with all the latest technology (very modern + up-to-date)
  • Cutting edge: describes a revelatory creation. Something more original, which hasn’t been designed/done before. It could be a scientific breakthrough.

Resume

  • Pull the plug: stop a project. For example: “we pulled the plug on our project when we saw it was going to be a disaster”.
  • State of the art: the latest in technology. For example, “every new iPhone is state of the art”.
  • In the long run: another way of saying eventually or over a period of time. For example, “In the long run, we will be able to meet demands, but now we are running behind”.
  • Well-oiled machine: we can use this idiomatic expression to say something that works or works very well or smoothly. It can also be with people! Here is an example, “Our football team runs like a well oiled machine”.
  • Cutting edge: means the latest and greatest version. It’s a bit like “state of the art”, but it’s “cutting edge”. For example, "This new car has all the latest technology. It’s cutting edge.

in the long run, I see if I can reconsider being part of future projects and ideas, I love when people work like a well-oiled machine, on the contrary, I couldn’t see that in these founders
