Summary | Putting all the knowledge in practice.

👏🏽Welcome, this is a summary about this course: Requests and Reflexive Pronouns. Here, I gonna to add the first information ⌨️ that I’ve learned during this course, and the essential to review the learned, since, it is important to review the knowledge to this be fundamental, using the active memorization and spacing repetition. (This as a method that currently I’ve been trying to add to my learning path.

First Module: Adding Information

Within this module, we reviewed different forms to add extra info in our sentences. Like, relative clauses, present continuos to express negative attitudes, intensifiers among others.

The next is a dialogue between people, where I tried to add some of them forms to add info.

Person 1: I’ve just heard of that, Antonio’s girlfriend who is new in the town is always arguing with Mrs. María because, she thinks that she is constantly only selling her bad fruit.

Person 2: I agree with her, It seems that Mrs. María left to buy good products, because so little time ago the mangos I buy her that have spoiled quickly.

Person 1: Well, I heard about probably Mrs. Maria changed her producer, since she founds a new one who offers cheaper prices. But, I think the products are so awful that finishes spoiled.

Person 2: I dunno, but it’s so definitely she didn’t buy them where she before did.

  1. Heard of/heard about: These are two forms to say that you heard something, but the difference is if you know this, or if you heard for someone else. Heard of: by yourself; Heard about: by sb.
  2. Relative Clauses: Theses are words that connect with sentences that by themselves doesn’t say anything; relative sentences. But are made sense when you join with a first sentence by a relative clause as: where, who, whom, which, that among others.
  3. Present continuos to express negative attitudes: It is useful to express a negative attitude that happen each amount of time. Using adverbs of frequency.
  4. Clause & effect: Here’s means that there is a clause and then will happen an effect.

Second: Adverbs

Here, we reviewed the use of adverbs, and depend on the positions if they were use as comment about the situation or they described how something was done.

The prehistoric time could be considering as a definitely lucky time to Homo Sapiens, It’s means to us. During that time Sapiens confronted to battle to define who we being within the next years. Sadly, people haven’t understood how evolution works. Commonly, It is thought that evolution works as simple line, first we had the Australopithecus, next the Homo Habilis, and so on, and we finished with us; Homo Sapiens. Nothing further than reality.

To understand how evolution works and understand this amount time, It is Naturally speculate with the rest of our ancestors. And how they luckily survive among the great numbers of hominids. Neither the Homo Erectus nor the Neandertales survive until these days, even some of them have had more time in the earth than Homo Sapiens.
Well, How evolution works?
This work as tree, And Amazingly, Homo Sapiens isn’t the success of the evolution. This is only a means not and end. Evolution proceeds to life itself.

  1. Adverb positions: These describe the way that something, either, to comment or the manner. If they are the first of sentence work as a comment, but if the join to the sentence work as manner.
  2. Either and Neither: Express negative with these words.

Third: Requests

Here, in this module we reviewed the requests, will and would; to request a favor, necessary; politer than need, and request to ask for advice about a situation.

Well, I think it’s all for today.

Sandy: Max, Are you leaving already?

Max: Yep! I’ve just finish for today.

Sandy: Could you think to do…, well forget it

Max: What would I think to do… Remember, Sandy, I’ve told you, that If I were you I wouldn’t hesitate to request me a favor. So, will you help me to…

Sandy: ok, you’re right!, Would you help me to finish with these sheets I have to find a the last cost from last month. There a huge of sheets, So, this chore taken me the whole day.

Max: It is necessary for you be politer with yourself. Let’s do it.

Sandy: What would you do If you were me?

Max: Maybe, If I were you, maybe think about to schedule time for myself. It is necessary be aware that you are a human not only a gear into a company. Commonly, It is forget that we humans beyond our jobs. Our jobs don’t define us. It’s only a part.

  1. Asking for advice: To request a favor, about a situation.
  2. Necessary: It use when reference that something is needed but in a polite way.
  3. Will & would: Request for something, common, and politer.

Fourth and fifth: Useful phrases & phrasal verbs

Within this module we reviewed common phrases during a conversation, as hope so, hope not, also the reflexive & reciprocal pronouns. With this a particular kind of placeholders: do, did, And the last, phrasal-prepositional verbs.

It’s so interesting how Homo Sapiens that was just another of kind home of the homo family, who survived and be the only home that exits. There’s a lot thesis about that moment. Some anthropologist stand up for the cognitive revolution, however, Homo Sapiens, wasn’t the only one to enter in cognitive revolution. Neanderthals did it too. But, Have we look up to Homo Sapiens to be as the superior homo? I don’t think so. I hope not, this became an idea, isn’t? It’s more the lucky conditions we have had at that moment. The environment, the position of our laringe maybe.

Harari’s thesis says that homo sapiens colaborate each other as a group, as tribe, They worked together for themselves, for their tribe. But they didn’t work only by themselves, there was a bigger thing that help to work each other, neither god nor aliens. Our only superpower: stories, stories that everyone believe, these are abstracts concepts, We put our partnership in stories that seemed true, because everyone was watching the same story.

  1. Phrsal-prepositional verbs: Verb are forming by three words.
  2. Placeholders: To reference to something was mention previous and confirm with: does, did and do.
  3. I hope so/not: To be positive or negative about something.
  4. Reciprocal and reflexive pronouns: Reference to something by itself as they did it for themselves. And pronouns that mention pronouns that collaborate each other: one another or each other.

I made this summary to remember and reinforce the knowledge about this course. Every paragraph was written by me, so if there’s an issue or mistake tell me, these ideas have origin in my mind, and I put in practice the knowledge about different areas of my interesting. It’s a new method that I’m trying to add to my learning path and If I could help to someone else it is better. 😆📖
